A new book of recipes from Lebanon has been released, spotlighting villages affected by war. The book is written by Anissa Helou, a renowned cook and food writer from the Middle East.

Helou's background in cooking and writing is notable, as she entered the field by accident in her late 30s. Now 74, she has gained a wide following and released nearly a dozen books on Middle Eastern cuisine.

Further details about Helou's book and achievements, including her recent Guild of Food Writers Lifetime Achievement Award, are available from KSAT 12, a local ABC affiliate in San Antonio.
