The Texas Department of Public Safety has introduced new canine teams to enhance safety across the state. Five K-9 teams have been trained to detect narcotics and explosives, aiming to bolster public safety support statewide.

These teams are part of the DPS' efforts to expand their capabilities. In addition to the new K-9 teams, two officers have also received specialized certifications as K-9 Tech Trainers.
