Flooding has resulted in the closure of U.S. Highway 90 in both directions near Knippa, leading to significant travel disruptions. Drivers are being stranded and experiencing lengthy delays, with backups lasting about an hour.

Only emergency crews are currently allowed to pass through the affected area. As a result, travelers are being forced to take detours, which can add substantial time to their journeys. For example, trips from San Antonio to Del Rio are being rerouted through Laredo, adding around 3.5 hours to the usual travel time.
