A former Wisconsin judge has been fined for obstructing an ICE arrest. The judge, Hannah Dugan, was convicted of felony obstruction in December. She had ushered a Mexican defendant through a jury room door as ICE agents attempted to arrest him in a courthouse hallway.
Dugan was fined $5,000 by U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman. Her lawyers had argued that the Trump administration sought to target her as part of its ICE strategy. Dugan resigned her judgeship in January after nine years on the Milwaukee County circuit court.
Further details on the case are available from KSAT 12. The outcome of the case has been decided, with Dugan spared from prison and fined instead.
