In a recent rescue effort, the San Antonio Zoo saved 30 Texas horned lizards from a field slated for agricultural work. The rescued group includes 26 hatchlings. These rescued animals, also known as "horny toads", are expected to contribute to the genetic diversity of the zoo's reintroduction program.
